Marleen Rutten, originally from the Netherlands, moved to Ireland in 1996 to pursue her passion for western riding and horse training. 

Since then, Marleen has dedicated herself to working and teaching at Drumcoura Equestrian Centre, continuously expanding her expertise through collaboration with many visiting AQHA and WES-UK clinicians, as organised by the Irish Quarter Horse Association (IQHA) over the years. Marleen has achieved an IQHA-accredited Level 3 western coach qualification, showcasing her commitment to excellence in western horsemanship.

Marleen’s passion lies in helping riders develop a deeper understanding of their horses, fostering effective communication, and creating an enjoyable experience for both horse and rider through the principles of western riding and training.

Having successfully coached three of the IQHA Youth World Cup Team in 2014, Marleen also took on the role of Team Coach for the American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup in 2023.
