
IQHA Mission Statement

To expand awareness and appreciation of American Quarter Horses in Ireland while developing and promoting practices that support the responsible ownership, breeding, and participation of Quarter Horses in Ireland. We work in collaboration with Horse Sport Ireland to contribute to the growth and integrity of equestrian sports across all breeds.

Our general purpose is to:

(i) promote the welfare and value of the American Quarter Horse in Ireland;
(ii) provide beneficial services to members that encourage responsible ownership and increased participation in equestrian activities;
(iii) foster growth in membership through targeted marketing, outreach, and international promotion;
(iv) educate the public and horse owners about the breed and the benefits of proper registration and management;
(v) represent the interests of Quarter Horse owners nationally and, where relevant, liaise with Horse Sport Ireland and appropriate governmental bodies;
(vi) champion youth involvement in equestrian sports and uphold safeguarding best practices, in accordance with the 2015 Children First Act and Horse Sport Ireland guidelines.
