IQHA MEMBERS
CODE OF CONDUCT 

1. Respect for the Association: As a member of the Irish Quarter Horse

Association (IQHA), I will demonstrate respect for the organization, its mission,and its members.

I will conduct myself in a manner that upholds the values and reputation of the IQHA.

 

2. Ethical Behaviour: I will act with integrity, honesty, and fairness in all my

dealings related to the IQHA. I will adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by

the association and abide by the principles of good sportsmanship.

3. Animal Welfare: I will prioritize the well-being and welfare of quarter horses

and other animals involved in IQHA events and activities. I will ensure that their

physical and mental health is not compromised, providing proper care, nutrition,

and veterinary attention as required.

 

4. Sportsmanship: I will promote and maintain a spirit of good sportsmanship

at all times. I will compete fairly and honestly, respecting the rights and abilities of

other members. I will not engage in any form of cheating, manipulation, or

unethical behaviour that may give me or others an unfair advantage.

 

 

5. Respect for Others: I will treat all IQHA members, officials, volunteers, and

participants with respect, regardless of their background, experience, or opinion. I

will refrain from engaging in disrespectful, offensive, or discriminatory behaviour,

including but not limited to, discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion,

sexual orientation, or disability.

 

6. Conflict Resolution: In the event of a dispute or disagreement, I will seek to

resolve conflicts in a respectful and constructive manner. I will communicate

directly with the individuals involved or utilize appropriate channels provided by

the IQHA for conflict resolution, aiming to find a fair and satisfactory resolution for all parties involved.

 

7. Responsible Horsemanship: I will strive to continuously improve my

horsemanship skills and knowledge. I will prioritize the safety of myself, other

members, and the horses by following proper training methods, using appropriate

equipment, and maintaining a safe environment during IQHA activities.

 

8. Compliance with Regulations: I will comply with all rules, policies, and

regulations established by the IQHA. This includes but is not limited to, registration

requirements, competition guidelines, and any other governing principles that

ensure the fair and orderly conduct of IQHA events.

 

9. Positive Promotion: I will represent the IQHA in a positive manner, both

within the equine community and the general public. I will avoid engaging in any

activities that may bring disrepute to the association or its members.

 

10. Continuous Learning and Improvement: I will actively seek opportunities to

expand my knowledge, skills, and understanding of quarter horses and equine

related subjects. I will remain open to feedback, engage in educational activities,

and contribute to the growth and development of the IQHA.

 

By becoming a member of the Irish Quarter Horse Association, I acknowledge and

agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. I understand that failure to comply with

this code may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to, suspension or termination of membership
